Review: James Cooper Jazzy Collection Kissproof Lip gloss

James Cooper Jazzy Collection Kissproof Lip Gloss bottle
James Cooper Jazzy Collection Kissproof Lip Gloss bottle

The product: James Cooper Jazzy Collection Kissproof Lipgloss in Pink Red (LKP-07 017-PINK RED)
Price: 299PHP
Where I bought it: SM Megamall Department Store
Rating: 8/10
(+):
  • Highly pigmented so only a little amount is needed to color the lips
    • Color is BOLD. I like it that way. :)
  • Dries matte - totally no shine or shimmer at all
  • It is kissproof to some extent. I've only kissed my hand though... (My dear boyfriend, come back soon please! Oops LOL)
  • This particular color suits my skin tone well - view the full blog entry to see photos ;)
  • No weird smell and taste
  • Doesn't cause my lips to crack and/or bleed
  • No irritation, no allergies
  • Doe foot applicator is able to color the lips precisely - I don't find the need to use a lip liner
  • Lasts around 4 - 5 hours before the need to touch up
  • Inexpensive
  • Product comes in a classy plastic packaging (the box, well, that's another story)
  • Production and expiration dates are printed on the box.
(-):
  • The formula is drying. Like I stated above, it dries matte--there is truly no hint of moisture. If dryness of the lips is a problem of yours, this product may not be good for you.
    • I personally find it okay though. My lips aren't dry, perhaps because I always use lip balm. I've used this with and without applying lip balm underneath and I liked it either way. :)
  • It can emphasize the lines and flakiness of dry lips.
  • The box can still be improved. I'm not really feeling the pink to black gradient. The silver font color on a part of the box with a white-to-gray background makes it hard to read the product's complete name. (Photos below!)
  • The product name is misleading. It calls itself a lip gloss but it isn't glossy at all. It's actually a liquid lipstick. :)
  • The product has a slight tendency to transfer most especially if it hasn't dried up completely yet.
  • The actual color is darker than what's visible on the tube. You need to swatch this on at least your skin to see its true color.

Review: Clio Professional Gelpresso Waterproof Pencil Gel Liner

Updated on April 28, 2013^^
Clio Professional Gelpresso Waterproof Pencil Gel Liner
Clio Professional Gelpresso Waterproof Pencil Gel Liner
The product: Clio Professional Gelpresso Waterproof Pencil Gel Liner in Metallic Silver No. 6
Price: Around 10-12,000 won (400-480 PhP); This is available here in the Philippines for 475PhP!
Where I bought it: Artbox, Anyang, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea
Rating: 10/10
(+):
  • Has a smooth and creamy texture which glides easily on my eyelid
  • Smudge-proof and waterproof
  • Lasts all day
  • It's an automatic eyeliner which means it has a twist mechanism to reveal more of the "lead"
  • Has a built-in sharpener at the bottom
  • Cap fits the pencil liner perfectly--the eyeliner is well-protected
  • Comes in a box which has a description of the product (sadly I lost the box already; it has been almost a year since I purchased this)
  • Did not cause any allergic reaction or irritation
(-):
  • Since it has a creamy texture, it can break easily if you bring out too much of the "lead" while sharpening or using it. Aside from that, I don't have anything negative to say about this eyeliner. I love it! ♥

Review: The Face Shop Herb Day Cleansing Wipes

The Face Shop Herb Day Cleansing Wipes
The product: The Face Shop's Herb Day Cleansing Wipes
Price: 325pesos for 70 sheets
Rating: 8/10
Where I bought it: The Face Shop, Robinsons Galleria
(+):
  • Functions as a good remover of light to moderate coverage makeup
  • Cleanses without leaving my skin dry; it also doesn't make my skin feel sticky
  • The sheet is big enough to use on my entire face.
  • Each sheet is soaked just right--wet enough to easily wipe my face without dripping.
  • Did not cause any allergic reactions
  • Has a pleasant, non-irritating scent
  • The cap/lid is functional. There is also a sticker underneath the lid which further prevents the sheets from drying up.
(-):
  • The sheets can be a bit rough especially when they're not as wet as they originally were due to several wipes done on the face. Because of this, excessive wiping/rubbing can scratch the skin. But then again you have to be gentle in wiping your skin, you're not supposed to rub it, so this shouldn't be a problem :)
  • This cannot remove mascara thoroughly. For non-waterproof mascaras, you need to do a few more gentle wipes on your eyes to cleanse them adequately. For waterproof mascaras, you're better off using an eye makeup remover.

Review: Dove Beauty Moisture Creamy Lather Facial Wash

Dove Beauty Moisture Creamy Lather Facial Wash bottle
The product: Dove Beauty Moisture Creamy Lather Facial Wash
Price: 395pesos
Rating: 9/10
Where I bought it: Watsons, SM Supercenter Pasig
(+):
  • Lathers well
  • Rinses off easily
  • Cleanses skin thoroughly
  • Not very drying on the skin
  • Has a light, pleasant floral scent which doesn't trigger my allergic rhinitis
  • Does not cause redness or itchiness
  • Does not cause me to break out (may even actually be helping keep my skin clear)
  • A small amount goes a long way!
  • The pump works well. It is easy to press/push and the amount of product expressed from the pump is controllable. There is also a lock included which prevents accidental presses.
(-):
  • Rather expensive for a drugstore brand facial wash
  • Limited availability--I've only seen this in Watsons. It's not available in the supermarkets I've been to whereas other Dove facial washes are displayed there.
  • It comes in a big bottle so it may not be travel-friendly as it will take a bigger space than other facial washes.
