REVIEW: L'oreal Casting Creme Gloss in 724 Iced Latte

Another hair color review for all of you! ^__^

L'oreal Casting Creme Gloss in 724 Iced Latte box
The product: L'oreal Casting Creme Gloss in 724 Iced Latte
Price: Around 500pesos, if my memory serves me right.
Rating: 9.5/10

Where I bought it: Watsons, SM Supercenter Pasig
(+): Product is very soft on the hair--even prior to the use of the conditioner, after-color conditioner is really good, was able to cover my roots, made my hair softer and shinier, easy to use, did not cause any allergic reaction/s, ammonia-free
(-): More expensive than other brands considering that it is a semi-permanent dye
What I particularly liked about this hair dye is that it made my hair feel soft afterwards. Even just after rinsing off the actual dye from my hair, I already felt the difference compared to other products. After rinsing off other hair dyes (prior to the use of the conditioner) my hair would feel hard and stiff, but this product was different. I felt as if it only did little damage, if any at all, on my hair. It also did not sting my scalp.

I used it to cover the brassiness of my hair and I think it did a pretty good job. I think the brassiness was a result of lightening my hair without the use of bleach--after my previous coloring my hair looked fine but it turned this way after several weeks.

I tried searching for reviews about this product (and this color) but I couldn't find much so here I am posting my thoughts on it. I also think that the names of the colors available here in Manila are different from the ones abroad. I checked out L'oreal's website and I couldn't find the exact name and shade there. Oh well.

Pasting the hair color notes I shared on my previous hair dye blog entry:

Notes:
  • This product may or may not work for you depending on your hair structure. My hair strands are thin and smooth to begin with so I could say that those characteristics helped in making the color stick to my hair shaft.
  • Condition, condition, condition! Take extra care of your colored hair. Don't skimp on conditioner. I actually use up a lot of conditioner now compared to when I had virgin hair. I use shampoo and conditioner for dry/damaged hair.
  • ALWAYS DO AN ALLERGY TEST PRIOR TO USING HAIR COLORING PRODUCTS. I cannot stress this enough. Do a patch test too to see what results the hair dye will have on your hair. Instructions for the allergy and patch tests are included in the box.
  • For dark hair, you may opt to leave the product on longer than what is instructed but do this at your own risk. Do several patch tests to see how long you must keep the product on for the desired color to show up. :)
  • When sporting brown hair, it's good to lighten your eyebrows too BUT DON'T USE THE SAME HAIR DYE ON YOUR EYEBROWS as it is meant for the hair on your head only. I've bleached my eyebrows last night using Sally Hansen's Creme Hair Bleach. I read the review of a blogger about it and followed her instructions. Visit her blog to read the review. :)
  • If you have long and thick hair (length extends up to below your shoulders) it's advisable to purchase 2 boxes of hair dye to ensure even coverage.
